Morocco Is The First African Country to Authorize VAR

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF)  has been authorized by the International Football Council  (IFAB) to use Video Assistance Referee (VAR) technology during the semi-finals of the 2019 Throne Cup.

VAR will be used first in today’s game between Difaa El Jadidi and Casablanca in Grand Stadium in Tangier, and tomorrow in the Grand Stadium of Marrakech in the game where Hassania Agadir is playing Moghreb Tetouan.

According to a statement by FRMF, Morocco is the first African country to use the VAR technique in local competitions.
