Macky Sall Describes the King Mohammed VI as a Champion of African Unity

King Mohammed VI has a leading role on the continent, a vision to promote Africa’s development, and to strengthen its unity, African leaders are convinced of this.

The President of the State of Senegal, Macky Sall, currently in Tangier, has described King Mohammed VI as “champion of African unity” and “champion of inter-African cooperation”.

On his arrival yesterday, Tuesday evening, November 12 in Tangier to participate in the twelfth edition of the International MEDays Forum, whose work continues until November 16, Macky Sall seized the opportunity to reiterate the strength and depth of Rabat-Dakar diplomatic relations, describing it as a “historical relationship.”

Macky Sall said that the strength of the relations between Morocco and Senegal is based on the tradition that the king Mohammed VI maintains.

“We are trying to maintain this tradition together so that more development and trade cooperation can take place,” the Senegalese president stressed, praising the sovereign’s efforts and strategic vision to develop Morocco’s African dimension.

In this sense, Macky Sall indicated that King Mohammed VI’s approach has always been to restore Morocco’s natural vocation to be African, recalling as proof of this royal commitment the journeys that the king has made across the continent, whether it is West Africa, Central Africa or other parts of the continent, thus developing a relationship of trust with many countries.

As for his participation in the MEDays Forum, organized by the Amadeus Institute, Macky Sall said that he is honored to receive the MEDays Grand Prize this year, and it is therefore with humility and pleasure that he is taking part in this twelfth edition, which will allow Morocco to show once again, through the role it plays in Africa and in the world, that it is a land of dialogue and consultation”.

Similarly, the Senegalese President stressed the importance of this annual forum, saying that it will create trust between citizens and between countries.

Macky Sall also expressed his conviction that “States must, at the same time, have as their main concern to ensure equity and the living conditions of the populations”.

Finally, the daily reminds us that this year, the MEDays Forum opens the debates on this theme: the “Global crisis of trust: dealing with uncertainty and subversion”.

From November 13 to 16, speakers from various countries will discuss several issues related to international current affairs and geopolitical issues.

4,500 participants and economic operators from more than 80 countries take part in this annual event, organized under the support of King Mohammed VI.
