Morocco and France signed, on Thursday in Paris, several agreements in various areas of bilateral cooperation, aimed to boost a new dynamic to the partnership between the two countries.
Signed during a ceremony presided over by the Head of Government, Saâd Dine El Otmani and the French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, within the framework of the 14th France-Morocco High Level Meeting, these agreements concern the economic, social, cultural, urban planning, industrial property, education and decentralized cooperation fields.
This is a declaration of intent on the dissemination to the courts of the procedural outline relating to the procedure for placing vulnerable adults under protection, signed by the Minister of Justice, Mohamed Abdelkader, and Nicole Belloubet, Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice, as well as an administrative arrangement on the development of cooperation in the field of industrial property between the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and the Moroccan Industrial and Commercial Property Office (OMPIC) signed by Bruno Le Maire, French Minister of Economy and Finance, and Moulay Hafid El Alamy, Minister of Industry, Trade, Green and Digital Economy.
It is also a declaration of intention on cooperation in the fields of pre-school education and teachers training, inclusive education and school, vocational and university guidance, signed by Jean-Michel Blanquer, French Minister of National Education and Youth, and Saaid Amzazi, Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.
A declaration of intent on the development of innovative partnerships between Moroccan and French higher education institutions in the fields of higher education, scientific research and innovation was signed by the French Minister of Higher Education and Research Frédérique Vidal and Mr Amzazi.
A cooperation agreement in the fields of spatial planning, territorial cohesion, urban planning, housing, urban policy and territorial development was signed by Jacqueline Gourault, Minister for Territorial Cohesion and Relations with Local and Regional Authorities, and Nouzha Bouchareb, Minister for National Spatial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy.
The sixth agreement concerns a declaration of intent on the continuation and deepening of decentralized cooperation, signed on the French side by Jean Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and on the Moroccan side by Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad.
In addition, a declaration of intent between the general secretariats of the governments of the two countries on codification, the elaboration of impact studies and the continuous training of legal advisers was signed by Marc Guillaume, Secretary General of the French government, and Mohamed Hajoui, Secretary General of the government of the Kingdom.
In addition, a 150 million euro loan agreement to support the implementation of the employment policy for the economic integration of young people in three pilot regions (Sous-Massa, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima), was signed on the French side by Bertrand Walckenaer, Deputy Director General of the French Development Agency (AFD) and on the Moroccan side by Mohamed Benchaaboun, Minister of Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform.
Finally, a partnership agreement between the Arab World Institute (AMI) and the Foundation of the Museums of the Kingdom of Morocco (FNMM) was signed by Jack LAng, President of the AMI and MEhdi Qotbi, President of the FNMM.
