Achraf Hakimi was born in Madrid in 1998 to a father from the Wad Zem region and a mother from Ksar Lakbir who emigrated to Spain in search of a better life.
Achraf Hakimi was passionate about football from an early age. He joined Real Madrid Junior when he was just seven years old. He also played for Deportivo Cologne when he was still very young.
Hakimi attracted the interest of coach Zinedine Zidane, who believed in his talent, and decided to transfer him to the senior team in August 2017 as a replacement for Carvajal, who was suffering from heart problems. It was not long before he shone in numerous matches and, together with the other members of the club, was crowned with numerous titles and leagues, before being loaned out to Borussia Dortmund, with whom he made a good run in the German league.
Hakimi plays as a right and sometimes left winger. He also plays in the center of defense and is distinguished by his high technicality and his ability to dodge and make good passes. Hakimi is a fan of Marouane Chamakh and Noureddine Naybet, as he had previously told the media, but he has dreamed of resembling Brazil’s Marcelo from the start of his career.
