Moroccans Top the List of Tourist Visitors to Agadir

Tourist arrivals in Agadir increased by 9.14% last December compared to the same period in 2018, according to data from the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Agadir Souss-Massa.

The classified tourist establishments in Agadir received 86,196 tourists in December 2019, compared to 78,979 visitors during the same month of 2018.

Nationals lead the tourists’ list with 28,212 tourists, against 22,938 tourists in December 2018, an increase of 22.99%.

French tourists are in second position with 17,215 arrivals against 14,144, marking an increase of 21.71%, notes the same source, adding that British tourists come in third position with 10,641 arrivals against 10,300 in December 2018, an increase of 3.31%.

In terms of ranking per tourist accommodation unit, 4-star hotels come at the top of the list with 22,861 guests, followed by 5-star hotels with 21,738 arrivals and tourist clubs which totaled 17,407 tourists.

The average occupancy rate of classified hotels, tourist clubs and tourist residences improved by 2.22% in December, while the average stay is estimated at 4.24 nights.
