“Sport Nature Solidaire pour Toutes” in the Southern Regions of the Country

The women of the south as well as women’s associations active in the three regions of southern Morocco will have an appointment with the 3rd edition of the ” Sport Nature Solidaire pour Toutes” (Sport nature solidarity for all) program, organized by the Phosboucraa Foundation in partnership with the Lagon Dakhla Association. This event will take place according to a program that includes three training stations in Guelmim, Laayoune and Dakhla, in addition to a competition that will take place in Dakhla at the end of January, and, finally, participation in the “Sahraouiya” sports event next February.

After the first coaching workshops that took place on 4 and 5 January in Guelmim, followed by those in Laayoune on 10 and 11 January, it will be Dakhla’s turn to host these activities on 23 and 24 January.

Supervised by a professional coach, these workshops will offer participants the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through sessions to raise awareness of sport and its values, discover the benefits of good nutrition, and strengthen their openness to social solidarity actions. Each workshop will end with a sports competition for pairs. The winning teams in the preliminary phase will choose the issue or association for which they will compete in the women’s interregional competition. Afterwards, the 5 best teams will be designated to take part in the international sports event “Sahraouiya 2020” organized next February.

It should be noted that the program “Sport nature solidaire pour toutes” makes, from one year to the next, an important progress, while revealing the leadership and talent of young women from the southern regions. In this regard, the two previous editions of the program have seen the participation of nearly 320 beneficiaries from the 3 southern regions. 16 young women participated in the raid “Sahraouiya”, under the 2018 and 2019 editions. In 2019, three teams managed the great achievement of finishing the “Sahraouiya” competition in the top 10 of the overall ranking, including the team from Laâyoune which managed to occupy the 2nd place on the podium.

The program “Sport Nature Solidarity for All” was launched by the Phosboucraa Foundation in 2017 to promote women’s leadership and consolidate the values of social solidarity through sport.
