The Chairman of the Crans Montana Forum: Morocco Draws its Strength from the Personality of its King

The next edition of the Crans Montana Forum, which has been held regularly since 2015 in Dakhla, will take place this year from March 18 to 21. Jean-Paul Carteron, the founding Chairman of this Forum massively attended by political and economic personalities from all over the world (coming from 170 countries), presented last Monday in Rabat, the main lines of the program and themes that will be addressed this year in the capital of Oued Eddahab. The debates will revolve around Africa and South-South Cooperation, themes particularly important to King Mohammed VI, whose driving role in the democratic construction of Morocco was praised by Jean-Paul Carteron, as reported by the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia on Wednesday January 22 .

Indeed, according to Crans Montana’s Chairman, “Morocco’s strength as a country with a strong construction dynamic lies in the fact that its Head of State is not at the heart of local political disagreements, unlike many leaders of democratic and non-democratic countries”. This explains, according to him, the king’s influence and charisma, as well as the unanimity around his central role in all the kingdom’s affairs.

Jean-Paul Carteron added that Morocco “also draws its strength from the constancy of the king’s personality, his sharpness and his hand always extended even to the most intractable opponents of the kingdom.”

All these qualities, he explained, have made everyone today trust in the stability of Morocco, especially in its southern provinces where “the windows and doors have opened because we have brought, in the last six years, more than six thousand participants in total” to Dakhla, he concluded.
