The Music of the Mediterranean, organized by the Cervantes Institute of Casablanca, is back in its fifth edition at the Institute’s theater, with a magnificent program of three concerts on the last Thursday of January, February and March. The aim of this event is to create a space for exchange and dialogue between Spanish and Moroccan artists.
But that’s not all, as the organizers hope, in addition to developing links between Spanish and Moroccan music, to promote collaborations between musicians from all over the Mediterranean region. A beautiful initiative that has begun to show results, after four years of existence, knowing that music is universal, has no language and can bring together all the peoples of the planet. Thus, on the first Thursday, January 30, the duo formed by Isabel Vinardell and Isabelle Laudenbach will perform, offering a musical universe halfway between melodic song, copla and flamenco.
On 27 February, it’s the turn of Sophia Charaï from Casablanca, accompanied by Giovanni Ceccarelli on piano, to present her Mediterranean, Arabic, African and Latin rhythms, through a journey to a mixed and luminous south with jazzy melodies and dreamlike songs. The third Thursday, March 26th, will be honored by Le Parody who is experimenting with electronic music and Andalusian folklore in a contemporary proposal that will undoubtedly delight young minds as well as those who love adventure.
