Under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 6th Annual Session of the Crans Montana Forum will be held in Dakhla, from March 18 to 21, 2020, under the theme “A New Social Contract Enabling Africa to Move Forward on the Path of Development and Growth. »
The global forum, devoted to Africa and South-South cooperation, welcomes more than 1,000 high-level participants, with discussions on a number of key topics, including human security, digital development, the role of banks and the financial sector, financing for integration and the daily struggle for better governance, environmental requirements, transport, sustainable agriculture, and the participation of women and young people in social life.
Besides the Forum’s work and official activities, the Crans Montana Institute will organize an information workshop dedicated to the improvement of public governance in the field of the fight against illicit financial activities, as well as a set of parallel activities in the sports, social and cultural fields, with the aim of opening up to the population of the city of Dakhla.
The forum aims to intensify and strengthen its role in the coming years in order to be able to serve the southern regions and contribute to their development, while at the same time increasing their international influence, in particular by monitoring the economic, energy, environmental and digital development that they are experiencing, by promoting local initiatives relating to comprehensive and sustainable human development, and by seeking investment, particularly from abroad.
Organized in Dakhla since 2015, this forum aims to highlight Morocco’s ambitious development policies and integrated foreign policy strategies that are in line with the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, especially since these policies have become a model of success on the African continent.
The “Crans Montana” Forum has contributed, in a notable way, to the influence of the Oud Eddahab region in general and the city of Dakhla in particular. It has also contributed significantly to the economic and social development of this region, thus making the city of Dakhla a hub of economic relations relating to West African countries and a center for a renewed approach to cooperation among all African countries, through the strengthening of the openness to South-South cooperation.
It should be noted that since March 2015, this forum has brought together more than 6,000 participants representing more than 170 countries and 50 international organizations.
