King Mohammed VI has ordered the repatriation to Morocco of 100 Moroccan nationals, the vast majority of whom are students blocked in China in the Wuhan region following the coronavirus epidemic. Morocco thus joins in its decision other countries such as the United States, France and Japan.
King Mohammed VI today chaired a working session at the Royal Palace in Rabat on the situation of Moroccan citizens in the Chinese province of Wuhan, which has been quarantined by the Chinese authorities because of the coronavirus.
Mohammed VI has given instructions for the repatriation of the 100 Moroccan nationals, mainly students, currently in this province.
The Sovereign has also ordered that the necessary measures be taken with regard to air transport, appropriate airports and specific reception sanitary facilities.
He also ordered the Head of Government and the various officials present, each in his field of competence, to ensure appropriate follow-up and coordination.
The working session was held in the presence of the Head of Government, Saad Dine El Otmani, the King’s Counselor, Fouad Ali El Himma, the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad, Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Health, Khalid Ait Taleb and Lieutenant General Mohamed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie.
