Boutaïb Is no Longer a Zamalek Player

The contract between Khalid Boutaïb and Zamalek is officially closed. This is what the president of Cairo, Mortada Mansour, said on Tuesday after a press briefing at the club’s headquarters in the Egyptian capital.

“Khalid Boutaïb has refused to undergo medical examinations to find out whether he needs to have surgery. He is not responding to our letters and refuses to come to the club. His contract is therefore officially closed,” said the White Knights boss.

According to local press reports, Boutaïb visited the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association this morning. He has filed a complaint against his former club to claim back wages and bonuses owed to him.

Recruited a little over a year ago from Malatyaspor, the Atlas Lion disappointed in Zamalek, where he scored five goals in 24 matches played (all competitions combined). He has been heavily criticized for his poor performances and repeated injuries.
