For the eighth consecutive year, Moroccan local products are in the spotlight at the Paris International Agricultural Show (SIAP), whose 57th edition opened on Saturday.
At the initiative of the Agency for Agricultural Development (ADA), about thirty exhibitors from sixty agricultural organizations from all regions of Morocco came to Paris to offer local products with a very high market value and to establish business contacts with potential importers.
The national regional products on display in Paris (argan, olive oil, saffron, dates, aromatic and medicinal plants, spices, henna, etc.) all meet particularly strict criteria (obtaining authorizations/approvals issued by the National Office for Food Safety, quality of packaging, diversity of ranges, etc.). They have been carefully selected to be presented to the 700,000 visitors expected throughout the 9 days of the show, says L’Economiste.
In addition, SIAP is an ideal opportunity for small Moroccan producers to prospect for new opportunities and make business contacts. In this context, more than 300 B2B meetings are scheduled by the ADA throughout the duration of the show, to connect Moroccan exhibitors with French and foreign professionals.
By ensuring the organization, each year, of the Moroccan participation in this international trade show, ADA responds to the major guidelines set out by the Green Morocco Plan, particularly with regard to the section devoted to solidarity agriculture and the promotion of local products.
This participation also aims to strengthen the country’s achievements in the field of exporting these products, but also to explore new opportunities for this strategic sector of Moroccan agriculture.
In this respect, the SIAP represents a valuable springboard to strengthen the presence of Moroccan local products on the traditional markets of the European Union.
As soon as the exhibition opened, the Moroccan pavilion set up by the ADA attracted many visitors, not only by its architecture combining tradition and modernity, but also by the many local products on display.
The Moroccan pavilion thus allows visitors to benefit from a total immersion, and also to live an extraordinary experience within a magnificent combination of colors and flavors. A whole range of culinary and cultural events, in particular cooking shows and tastings of typical Moroccan dishes, are organized there and offer an authentic insight into the richness of Morocco’s gastronomy and cultural heritage.
The Moroccan pavilion was honored by the visit of the Ivorian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, and the accompanying delegation. On this occasion, the Ivorian minister held talks with the Moroccan delegation focusing on ways to strengthen agricultural cooperation between Morocco and Ivory Coast.
