The Royal Family and the entire Moroccan people celebrate, on Friday, in joy and happiness, the thirteenth birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Khadija, a happy event that reiterates, once again, the attachment and full cohesion of the different components of the Moroccan Nation with the Glorious Alaoui Throne.
This anniversary is a reminder of the special moments of celebration that Moroccans experienced on the blessed day of February 28, 2007, when the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced the birth of HRH Princess Lalla Khadija, whose birth lit up the Royal House.
There was a great deal of joy and rejoicing at the announcement of the birth of HRH Princess Lalla Khadija, the second child of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, after HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan.
As soon as the happy news were announced, greeted by a 21-gun salute, the citizens spontaneously flocked to the Royal Palace of Rabat to present their wishes and express their joy, thus regenerating the ancestral ties with the Royal Family to which they devote a deep affection.
Moroccans have expressed, in various forms, the marks of happiness and communion with the Royal Family by signing the Golden Books opened at the headquarters of the Directorate of Royal Protocol and the Chancellery, as well as in the various wilayas, prefectures and provinces of the Kingdom.
The various cities of Morocco were also part of the festival, wearing the pomp of the great days. The arteries, squares and public buildings were decorated with lanterns and covered with flags and colored stripes.
Members of the Moroccan community living abroad, as well as a large number of political, diplomatic, artistic, sports and business personalities, joined in the celebrations held in the country’s cities and countryside. They flocked to the Kingdom’s embassies and consulates in several countries to express their congratulations to the Sovereign on this happy occasion.
Families, whose newborn babies were born at the same time as HRH Princess Lalla Khadija’s, were presented with royal gifts and presents at receptions held on that occasion.
One of the highlights of the festivities was undoubtedly the day of Lâakika, on March 7, 2007, organized in the pure Moroccan tradition with many marks of celebration.
The celebration of this thirteenth princely anniversary is an opportunity to look back on the first steps of Her Royal Highness in public life.
In September 2011, it is under the watchful eye of HM King Mohammed VI that the opening of the first school year for HRH Princess Lalla Khadija took place at the Princely School at the Royal Palace in Rabat.
On this occasion, the Sovereign attended a learning session on the Holy Quran and the first Arabic and French classes given by HM Princess Lalla Khadija and her classmates.
On September 17, 2018, HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Princess Lalla Khadija, presided over a ceremony at the Royal Palace in Rabat to present the progress report and executive program in the field of schooling support and the implementation of the education and training reform.
On February 13, 2019, HRH Princess Lalla Khadija made a remarkable appearance alongside HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and Princesses Lalla Meryem, Lalla Asmae, Lalla Hasnaa and Lalla Oum Keltoum, during the official welcoming ceremony of HM King Don Felipe VI and Queen Dona Letizia, Sovereigns of the Kingdom of Spain, presided over by HM King Mohammed VI, at the Mechouar Square of the Royal Palace in Rabat.
More recently, HRH. Princess Lalla Khadija presided over the inauguration ceremony of the vivarium of the National Zoological Garden of Rabat and visited, after cutting the inaugural ribbon, the different spaces of the vivarium which displays some species of live reptiles from different regions of Africa.
Each of the public appearances of HRH Princess Lalla Khadija thus perpetuates a long tradition that aims to initiate and familiarize young Princes and Princesses of the Royal Family with the roles and activities they will be called upon to assume within a society that remains attached to its values.
