The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita, met, Friday in Rabat, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Gbehzohngar Findley, who is currently on a working visit to the Kingdom.
In a press briefing at the end of these talks, Mr. Bourita said that Morocco and Liberia have regular contacts and ongoing exchanges on methods of expanding the cooperation between the two countries. “The joint commission held last year was an opportunity to sign a large number of agreements to create the appropriate legal framework for the strengthening of sectoral cooperation, open the way to private investment and strengthen cooperation in technical fields,” he said. Since the signing of these agreements, “our training program has been strengthened by the granting of scholarships and we have established a program of exchange visits,” Mr. Bourita added, adding that the Liberian Minister of Agriculture will visit the Kingdom very soon. A Moroccan multidisciplinary mission will be sent to Liberia to present the full range of cooperation, particularly in the areas of vocational training, energy and agriculture, he noted, noting that the two countries have agreed to further strengthen their coordination at the level of regional and international organizations.
Gbehzohngar Findley’s visit to the Kingdom was an opportunity for Liberia to announce the future opening of a consulate in Dakhla, in the southern provinces of Morocco.
