Coronavirus: New Fake News Makes the Interior React

The information contained in the audio recordings circulating since Friday on social networks and instant messaging applications about the spread of the new Coronavirus and the quarantine of certain areas of the national territory, is unfounded, the Interior Ministry stressed.

“Audio recordings have been circulating since Friday on social networks and instant messaging applications containing false allegations and fake data about the spread of the new Coronavirus and the quarantine of certain areas of the national territory, with the broadcasting of calls urging citizens in an exaggerated way to take exceptional and illogical measures,” the ministry said in a clarification.

The Ministry of the Interior affirms, in this regard, that the information contained in these audio recordings is baseless and has no relation to reality, calling on all citizens to ensure the accuracy of the information circulating and to ensure that it is collected from reliable official sources and not to give credibility to false and misleading allegations.
