Coronavirus in Morocco: The Poignant Tears of a Doctor (VIDEO)

The video of Dr Soukaina Sayl, the head of the intensive care unit of the Coronavirus department at Moulay Abdellah Hospital in Salé, in tears, has been posted on the Internet, not failing to make Internet users react.

Speaking on 2M, the doctor urged Moroccans to stay at home to fight the spread of Covid-19. She couldn’t hold back her tears and broke down. “I miss my children. I haven’t seen them for several days. Think of us, stay home so that we can get the situation under control. Respect this social separation, be patient. If you abide by this confinement, be certain that the situation will not get out of hand,” the doctor prayed.

Dr. Sayl’s tears sparked a flurry of emotion on the Web and Internet users expressed their support for the doctor whose video was widely distributed.

Nine new cases of contamination with the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) have been recorded in Morocco so far, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 143, the director of epidemiology and disease control at the Ministry of Health, Mohamed El Youbi, has just announced.

Fez-Meknes comes first among the affected regions with 35 confirmed cases, followed by Casablanca-Settat with 34 cases, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (32 cases), Marrakech-Safi (15 cases), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (9 cases), l’Oriental (7 cases), Souss-Massa (6 cases), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (3 cases), Draa-Tafilalet (1 case) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1 case), the official said.

El Youbi also announced the recovery of two people, bringing the total number of patients healed to five, while the number of deaths remains unchanged (4 deaths).
