Olympiakos Not Ready to Give up El Arabi

Olympiakos, well aware that their Moroccan striker Youssef El Arabi could be one of the attractions of the next mercato, are determined to keep him.

Despite that the Turkish media mention an interest from Besiktas, Youssef El Arabi might finally sign a new contract with Olympiakos.

Greek media outlet Sportime reports that the local league leader wants to extend the 33-year-old Moroccan’s contract. His contract expires in June 2021.

The performances of the 33-year-old from Caen with the Piraeus club have not gone unnoticed. He scored 17 goals in 25 Greek Super League matches played and 5 in his 9 appearances in European competitions this season.

Prior to the end of the competitions due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Olymapikos was at the top of the Greek league standings with 14 points ahead of second-placed PAOK Salonika, having reached the Round of 16 of the Europa League against Romain Saiss’ Wolverhampton (1-1 first leg in Greece).
