On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Moroccan Jews in Israel presented their greetings to His Majesty King Mohamed VI and the entire Moroccan people through the “Israel in Arabic” page on Twitter, which is the official Arabic-language account of the State of Israel.
The page posted a video of a Jewish rabbi of Moroccan origin wishing HM King Mohammed VI a happy Eid al-Fitr in Hebrew and praying for him, with a picture of HM in traditional Moroccan dress in the background.
He also wished a happy Eid al-Fitr to the Moroccan people and to HM King Mohammed VI, adding, “We pray to the Almighty to grant HM long life and health and that this occasion will bring happiness and prosperity to the people of Morocco”.
On the video that many Moroccans interacted with, the “Israel in Arabic” page stated: “Happy Aid al-Fitr. Jews of Moroccan origin, wish His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people good health and happiness on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. »
It should be noted that Israel’s official page on “Twitter” as well as other social media outlets are keen to congratulate His Majesty and the Moroccan people on every religious or national occasion, as well as on other Jewish holidays, such as Mimouna celebrated by Jews in Morocco and Israel.
Moroccan Jews remained attached to their Moroccan customs and traditions, despite their settlement in Israel. They also remained faithful to the Alawite homeland and throne. They regularly visit their country of origin, whether for the Hiloula or for other occasions.
