King Mohammed VI Orders Mass Screening in the Private Sector

According to a joint press release from the Ministry of Health and the General Confederation of Moroccan Businesses (CGEM), the king Mohammed VI has urged the Moroccan employers to undertake a massive screening action as part of the preventive measures taken to manage the Covid 19 pandemic.

“This operation will make it possible for company managers to protect employees and limit the risk of spreading the virus by applying screening tests to their employees, following the example of the massive screening operation carried out since May 16 in banking establishments in partnership between the Ministry of Health and the GPBM and which has given excellent results with the discovery of only two infected cases out of more than 8,100 tests carried out to date,” the press release continued.

In this context, the Sovereign has given His High Instructions to the Ministry of Health to make available to the CGEM its material and human resources in order to launch a national screening campaign for COVID-19 infection among employees of private sector companies, taking into account the overcrowding and the health characteristics and limitations of workplaces.

This action will contribute to a safe resumption of activity, which can take place under the best conditions.
