Covid-19: Authorities Close Akchur Region

According to a reliable source, the authorities have decided to close the region of Akchour, in the province of Chaouen, as part of preventive measures against covid-19.

To prevent citizens from entering this region, all access to the area has been blocked. The President of the Al Karama Association for the Defense of Human Rights, Hassan Aqbaou, described this decision as an excellent one, stressing that Akchour is very crowded in summer due to its beautiful nature, which could cause a real epidemiological disaster.

“The local authorities have closed the entrances to the region and tightened controls,” Aqbaou said.

It should be noted that 188 new cases of infection with Coronavirus (Covid-19) have been confirmed in Morocco as of Saturday at 10 a.m., bringing the total number of cases of contamination to 9,801.

The number of cured cases amounts to 8,133 with 16 new cases, while the number of deaths remains stagnant at 213 cases, says the ministry on its website “www.covidmaroc.ma“.

Moreover, the number of cases excluded after negative results of laboratory tests is 505,306, says the same source.
