Tourism: Nadia Fettah Presents her New Program in front of El Othmani

The minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, announced a new program to promote the tourism sector which is intended to pave the way for a sustainable transformation of the sector. This program was presented during the Government Council meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Saad-Eddine El Othmani.

The minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Government Spokesman, Saaid Amzazi said that this project, on which the Minister of Tourism made a presentation, also aims at preserving the economic network and employment, at accelerating the revival of tourist activities, at restructuring the sector and at developing programs for the promotion of domestic tourism in partnership with regional and local players.

The Minister has stressed the importance of the interactive nature of this program, which has been designed in consultation with the professionals of the sector and the ministerial departments concerned. Moreover, Amzazi added that it will be operational through a road map covering the period 2020-2022.

This project will provide support to tourism professionals, enable them to maintain the continuity of jobs, accelerate the integration of employees in vulnerable situations and offer tourism products that take into account the needs of domestic tourism, the Minister stressed.

In addition, Nadia Fettah explained the various means adopted by the ministry to support tourism institutions in implementing preventive and health measures within tourism institutions and to carry out screening tests for all employees, in coordination with local authorities and representatives of the Ministry of Health.

The aim of these preventive measures, available in the guide published by the ministry, is to facilitate the marketing of Morocco as a destination and to restore the confidence of Moroccan and international tourists, the minister added.
