Champions League: A Moroccan in the Semi-Finals with PSG

Despite the fact that he did not play a minute of the game against Atalanta of Bergamo (2-1) on Wednesday 12 August in Lisbon, Kays Ruiz-Atil can nevertheless be proud to be part of the Parisian squad that qualified for the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 25 years.

However, his presence on the bench is in itself an achievement. Particularly as he is barely 17 years old.

The player was born on 26 August 2002 in Lyon to a Moroccan father and holds dual Moroccan and French nationality. He was called up to the Moroccan national U-15 team, but never played a single match.

The daily Al Massae had reported in a previous edition that “Vahid Halilhodzic’s staff were actively trying to recruit the new Paris Saint-Germain talent”.

Kays Ruiz-Atil, who plays in midfield, is regarded as one of Europe’s leading players. He’s already on triggered the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
