A Distance Learning Space for Coronavirus Infected Children at the Fair Hospital in Casablanca

The association Moltaka B’ladi pour la Citoyenneté (“Moltaka B’ladi for Citizenship”) has created an educational space for the benefit of children and young people suffering from Covid-19 and hospitalized at the Casablanca Fair Hospital. They will be able to continue their studies virtually during the period of their treatment, under the supervision of the prefecture of Casablanca-Anfa and in coordination with the regional delegation of the Ministry of Health of Anfa as well as the regional directorate of the Ministry of National Education of Anfa, with the support of corporate citizens, including “BDSI”, “Les maitres du pain Marina” and “AFIK Com”.

This computerized pedagogical space, with a capacity of 40 pupils and students, contains a wing of electronic tablets connected to the internet. There are also televisions for the national channels “Arrabiaa”, “Tamazight” and “Laayoun” which broadcast recorded lessons under the supervision of the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This space is part of the social programs of the Moltaka B’ladi Association for Citizenship, in order to limit the spread of Coronavirus in our country as part of concurrent efforts with the health services.

The leaders of the association thanked the commitment of the medical and paramedical corps for their help in this educational and social program. The aim of this program is “to support and accompany the education of children and young people to continue their studies during their treatment, using modern computerized means”. They added that since the beginning of the pandemic, the association Moltaka B’ladi has been careful to organize educational and social activities for the benefit of patients of the field hospital of the international fair of Casablanca, through several events, in order to support them morally.

In order to provide psychological support to the patients of this space, the singer Salma Rachid and the actress Sabah Benseddik took part in its opening. In a word addressed to the patients, they invited children and young people to be strong to overcome this crisis and to become ambassadors explaining the need to apply health measures to fight against this pandemic.

It should be noted that the association Moltaka B’ladi for Citizenship was founded on September 2, 2008. Its headquarters are in Anfa and it has several branches throughout the kingdom. The association works on development programs as well as other social and educational programs in the country.
