Eric Zemmour: all immigrant minors must be expelled from France

Eric Zemmour, a Jewish journalist in France, said that all underage immigrants should be deported because they are “thieves, killers and rapists“.

Prosecutors on Thursday opened a criminal investigation for alleged incitement to racist hatred against Eric Zemmour, a columnist and writer linked to French extreme right-wing movements.

Eric Zemmour had made his remarks a day earlier in a debate on the television channel CNews in the aftermath of the stabbing of several people by a Pakistani national on 25 September in front of the former offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris. He said the alleged assailant, Hassan Ali, was under 18 when he immigrated to France alone in 2018.

In 2015, jihadists killed 12 people outside the magazine’s offices because the publication made fun of Islam.

The show’s host asked Eric Zemmour whether there was “really no fair way” to manage the immigration of unaccompanied minors.

“There is no fair solution,” replied the journalist. “We have to turn the situation around. These young people, the rest of the immigration… “

The facilitator, Christine Kelly, interrupted by saying: “Not all of them.

Eric Zemmour replied: “Everyone, Christine. All of them. Because they don’t belong here. I repeat. They are thieves, they are killers, they are rapists, that’s all they are. They must be sent back. »

Elisabeth Moreno, a minister responsible for diversity issues, said that Eric Zemmour’s comments were “despicable and racist”.

The CRIF, the umbrella group of French Jewish organisations, called on CNews to fire Eric Zemmour for his “intolerable and racist” remarks.
