Abu Dhabi’s Return to Fight Island the Perfect Platform For ‘Beautiful’ Buckley Knockout

American fighter Joaquin Buckley landed Performance of the Night at UFC® FIGHT NIGHT: MORAES VS SANDHAGEN for his stunning knockout of Impa Kasanganay and credited Abu Dhabi for providing the “perfect” set-up for his “beautiful” finish.

Buckley recorded the seventh knockout in 10 victories with a stunning spinning kick to the face of opponent Kasanganay, sending him crashing to the canvas two minutes into round two of their Return to Island middleweight clash.

“I’ve had an excellent experience in Abu Dhabi. Everything has been perfect; we’ve not had to worry about anything so could just focus on the fight. I will always remember this fight and winning in Abu Dhabi,” said Buckley after his impressive display landed him a $50,000 bonus from UFC® as Performance of the Night.

“Everything was lined up for this. We’ve just been here working. We have a beautiful place and a beautiful arena for a beautiful knockout.”

Meanwhile, Cory Sandhagen made his mark on UFC Fight Night with a second-round knockout of Brazilian Marlon Moraes.

“Very excited. That was a big one for me. I knew Marlon was a monster coming into this and I managed to take him out,” said the winning American. “Whatever I have to do to get to the top of the sport that’s what I’m going to do.”
