Detailed Geographical Distribution of New Cases of Coronavirus Infection after the Latest Official Report

The Ministry of Health announced, Tuesday, 2533 new cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), 2977 cases cured and 57 deaths, in the last 24 hours.

The ministry explained in the report of the epidemiological assessment of Covid-19 that the new assessment has increased the total number of cases affected in the Kingdom to 356,336 cases since the announcement of the first case on March 2. As for the total number of cases cured, it rose to 305,291, with a cure rate of 85.7%, while the number of deaths increased to 5,846, maintaining the case-fatality rate at 1.6%.

The distribution of cases registered in the previous 24 hours is as follows:

Casablanca-Settat (944), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (794), Souss-Massa (326), L’Oriental (234), Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima (83), Marrakech-Safi (64), Fez-Meknes (61), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (15), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (8), Draa-Tafilalet (4), and no contamination recorded in Guelmim-Oued Noun.

Regarding the number of deaths, the ministry’s report recorded 11 cases in the Casablanca-Settat region, 10 each in Souss-Massa and Oriental, 6 each in Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima and Marrakech-Safi, 5 in Fez-Meknes, 4 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 3 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra and one case each in Draa-Tafilalet and Guelmim-Oued Noun without registering any cases in the region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab.

According to the balance sheet, the cumulative infection index in Morocco is about 981.2 for every 100,000 inhabitants, i.e. 7 for every 100,000 inhabitants in the previous 24 hours, with the exception of 12,017 unreported cases. Thus, the rate of unreached cases is 3 million 597 thousand 564, while the total number of positive cases currently being treated is 45,199.

The number of serious cases in the intensive care and resuscitation unit recorded in the previous 24 hours is 65 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 1039, of which 97 are under artificial ventilation and 484 under spontaneous ventilation.
