Major Signs of Relaxation in Morocco-Emirates Relations and Optimism for the Future

The UAE Ambassador to Rabat, Mr. Al Asri Aldhaheri, expressed his country’s optimism to strengthen relations with Morocco. He said that at an enlightened leadership level, Morocco’s relations with the United Arab Emirates should become exemplary, special and bursting with economic achievements, investments and fruitful and constructive strategic cooperation”.

The UAE ambassador noted in a press release on the occasion of the commemoration of the 49th anniversary of the UAE’s national day (December 2), that the celebration of this occasion “reminds us of the establishment of relations between the Emirates and the Kingdom of brotherly Morocco by the late Sheikh Zayed ben Soltane Al Nahyane and HM King Hassan II”.

Mr. Aldhaheri added: “HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyane, President of the United Arab Emirates and his brother HM King Mohammed VI are carrying the torch towards development and construction with determination and resolve under the wise leadership of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyane, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces”. The Emirati diplomat also recalled his country’s initiative in opening a Consulate General in Laayoune to support the righteous causes of the Kingdom of Morocco, especially the issue of Moroccan Sahara, within the framework of concrete and effective cooperation with brotherly Morocco,”. He added: “It is with great pride that we witness the pioneering reforms carried out by HM King Mohammed VI may God assist him.”

On the other hand, Mr. Al Asri Al Dhaheri highlighted a number of achievements made by the UAE in 2020 in various fields, including economic, social, scientific, cultural, technological and diplomatic.
