South African President Disavows Polisario Separatists

South African President and current chairman of the African Union (AU) Cyril Ramaphosa disavowed the polisario separatists on Sunday, affirming the relevance of Decision 693 of the African summit held in July 2018 in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

Ramaphosa emphasized, during the closing of the 14th Extraordinary Summit of the AU on “Silencing the Weapons”, in spite of Morocco’s enemies, that the proposed amendments to Decision 693 only affirm the provisions of the said decision.

It should be recalled that Decision 693 recognizes the exclusivity of the UN as the framework for seeking a solution to the regional conflict in the Moroccan Sahara, by creating the Troika mechanism to support the UN efforts to resolve this artificial conflict.

The assertion of the President of South Africa is a success for Morocco in its fight against the malicious attempts of the enemies of the Kingdom’s territorial integrity. The aim is to spread the seeds of division in the continent, at a time when Morocco continues to contribute with confidence to efforts to create an Africa capable of taking its future under its own control.
