The Epidemiological Situation in Morocco: Daily Geographical Distribution of the Saturday’s Assessment

The Ministry of Health announced, on Saturday, the registration of 3033 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19), 3277 cured cases and 47 deaths, in the previous 24 hours.

The ministry explained on its daily report of the epidemiological situation of Covid-19 that the new results have brought the total number of affected cases in the Kingdom to 397,597 cases since the announcement of the first case on March 2. Meanwhile, the total number of cured cases has increased to 353,098, with a cure rate of 88.8%. As for the number of deaths, it has increased to 6589, maintaining the case-fatality rate at 1.7%.

The cases recorded in the previous 24 hours are distributed as follows: Casablanca-Settat (1239), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (556), Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima (342), Souss-Massa (286), Marrakech-Safi (208), Draa-Tafilalet (85), Laayoun-Sakia LHamra (79), Fez-Meknes (69), L’Orient (68), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (47), Guelmim-Oued Noun (39), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (15).

Concerning the deceased, the Ministry’s balance sheet recorded 15 cases in the Casablanca-Settat region, 7 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 6 in the Orient region, 5 in Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima, 3 each in Souss-Massa, Marrakech-Safi and Guelmim-Oued Noun, 2 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra, and one each in Draa-Tafilalet, Laayoun-Sakia LHamra and Fez-Meknès.

According to the balance sheet, the cumulative contamination index in Morocco is about 1095 for every 100,000 inhabitants, or 8.4 for every 100,000 inhabitants in the previous 24 hours, with the exception of 15,517 unreached cases. Thus, the rate of unreached cases is 3 million 782 thousand 022, while the total number of positive cases currently being treated is 37,910.

The number of serious cases in the intensive care and resuscitation unit recorded in the previous 24 hours is 166 cases. This brings the total number of cases to 1013, of which 101 under artificial ventilation and 574 under spontaneous ventilation.
