The famous French comedian Claude Brasseur died Tuesday at the age of 84, his agent announced.
“Claude Brasseur died this day in peace and serenity surrounded by his family. He was not a victim of Covid. He will be buried in Paris in accordance with health regulations and will rest beside his father in the Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris”, announced Elisabeth Tanner who runs the Time Art agency.
Coming from a long lineage of actors, Claude Brasseur has, during his 60-year career, appeared in more than 110 films and will notably remain associated with Sophie Marceau’s father in “La Boum”, a cult film of the 1980s. He has also acted in numerous plays.
In 1977, he was awarded the César for best actor in a supporting role for the comedy “Un éléphant ça trompe énormément”, then the consecration three years later, with the César for best actor for “La guerre des polices”.
