An increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in Morocco during the previous 24 hours, the region of Casablanca registers 487 new cases

The ministry of Health announced, on saturday, that 740 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered, 601 have recovered, and 6 have died in the past 24 hours. The number of people who received the first dose of the vaccine reaches 4 471 831.

The ministry indicated during the daily Covid-19 epidemiological bulletin that the number of people who have received the second dose of the vaccine amounts to 4 134 740.

The overall number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom has reached 501 688, since the announcement of the first case on march 2nd, 2020, whereas the overall number of cases which have completely recovered is 488 015 cases, with a cure rate of 97,3%. However, mortality has increased to 8891 cases, regustering a lethality rate of 1,8%.

Registered cases of the past 24 hours are distributed in the different regions of the Kingdom as follow: Casablanca-Settat (487), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (93), Marrakech-Safi (53), Souss-Massa (20), Laayoune- Sakkia Lhamra (20), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (19), the Oriental (16), Draa – Tafilalet (14), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (6), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (5), Guelmim-Oued Noun (5), and two cases in Fes-Meknes.

As for the cases of mortality, they are distributed as follow: 4 in Casablanca-Settat, and 1 in Rabat-Salé-Kenitra and Souss-Massa.

According to the bulletin, the rate of cumulative impact is 1379.5  for each 100.000 population, meaning an incidence rate of 2 for each 100 000 population in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases currently treated is 4782, and the number of dangerous cases in the intensified care units registered during the past 24 hours is 40 cases. The overall number of these cases is 449, among which 18 are under artificial ventilation, and 224 are under spontaneous ventilation.

The occupation rate of beds dedicated for the Covid-19 cases is 14,2%.
