Night curfew soon to be lifted in Morocco?

Several rumors have been circulating for the past few hours that the government is preparing to lift the nightly curfew.

A reliable source of Le Site info was keen to dismiss these rumors out of hand, indicating that these allegations are false.

“The current health situation does not allow for the lifting of the curfew. Morocco continues to record a significant number of infections and deaths related to covid. In addition, the start of the new school year and the communal and legislative elections are scheduled in a few days. A lightening of the restrictions could cause an epidemiological relapse”, explains our source.

He added that the latest measures decided by the authorities at the beginning of August, including the advancement of the curfew and the ban on weddings and funerals, saved Morocco from an actual slaughter, especially since the peak of the current wave had not yet been reached.

As a reminder, a total of 2,676 new cases of coronavirus infection (Covid-19) and 7,360 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said Monday.

The number of first-time vaccines is 18,379,071, while the number of fully vaccinated persons (1st and 2nd doses) is 14,629,875, and the total number of deaths has risen to 12,540 (lethality 1.5%), with 103 new cases recorded.
