168 aquaculture projects started this year in Morocco

The National Agency for the Development of Aquaculture (ANDA) said on Thursday that 168 aquaculture projects have started their activities this year in the different regions of Morocco, for an investment of 869 million dirhams.

Out of 259 conventions of creation and exploitation of aquaculture farms published in the Official Bulletin at the end of the year 2021, 168 projects have started the installation of their farms in the different regions of the Kingdom for a production of more than 80,000 tons/year and the creation of more than 2,000 jobs, said the ANDA in a press release on the occasion of the 18th session of its Board of Directors.

A session, chaired on Wednesday by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fishing, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, whose work was devoted to the review of the achievements of the ANDA for the year 2021 and the presentation of its action plan and budget for the year 2022.
