The suspense is over. The Moroccan football team will be opposed to its Congolese counterpart (DRC) in the qualifying play-off for the 2022 World Cup. The draw for the African zone play-offs for the 2022 World Cup took place on 22 January in Douala, Cameroon, on the sidelines of the 2021 CAN.
Morocco will face the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in a qualifying play-off for the World Cup (Qatar-2022), following the draw made this Saturday in Douala, Cameroon, on the sidelines of the 33rd African Cup of Nations (CAN-2021).
Togo’s Emmanuel Adebayor and Senegal’s El-Hadji Diouf were given the task of drawing the small balls of the two pots. Based on the latest FIFA rankings, the last ten teams in the competition, all of whom finished top of their qualifying groups, were divided into two pots.
Five fixtures will be played out in a two-legged tie between a team from Pot 1 and a team from Pot 2 in March. The five winners will qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
