Covid-19. Morocco: Sunday’s daily bulletin

A total of 4,435 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 7,758 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco during the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Sunday.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the Ministry noted that the number of people who received their first vaccination reached 24,635,926, that of those who received two doses amounted to 23,044,393, while 4,115,777 people received three injections.

The new infection toll brings the total number of infections since the first case was reported in Morocco in March 2020 to 1,098,413, while the number of people who have recovered has risen to 1,015,249, representing a recovery rate of 92.4%.

The new cases were recorded in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (1.072), Casablanca-Settat (796), Fès-Meknès (583), Marrakech-Safi (554), Souss-Massa (472), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (470), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (132), l’Oriental (122), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (107), Guelmim-Oued Noun (57), Draâ-Tafilalet (40) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (30).

As for the total number of deaths, it rose to 15,132 (lethality 1.4%) with 19 new cases reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (10), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (5), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (2), Fès-Meknès (1) and Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (1).

There were 68,032 active cases, while 88 new severe or critical cases were recorded in 24 hours, for a total of 596, including 29 under intubation. The occupancy rate of intensive care beds was 11.4%.
