Fez: Spotlight on Pottery and Traditional Zellige

The imperial city of Fez hosted the very first National Exhibition of Pottery and traditional Zellige. More than 120 artisans were present.

Coming from the four corners of the Kingdom, they all represented associations, cooperatives and specialized companies. 44 exhibitors and 7 organizations representing the Fez/Meknes region alone took part in this first edition under the theme: “the pottery and traditional Zellige sector, an undeniable contribution to the economic ecosystem”.

Initiated by the Chamber of Crafts of the Fez-Meknes region, in partnership with several ministries (Tourism, Air Transport, Crafts and Social Economy) and organizations, this fair was also an opportunity to promote investment and stimulate private initiatives by encouraging meetings and sharing between experts in the field. Thus, the public was able to discover numerous exhibition stands of ceramic and zellige objects and works of art, including the creations of the laureates of several vocational training institutes.

Conferences and round tables on Moroccan heritage and environmental issues were also on the program.
