New season to feature a wider array of Middle Eastern celebrities, with filming taking place around various locations the Emirate

Following the success of its first season, local film productions company FilmGate Productions, in collaboration with Al Kalema Productions, has begun filming for the second season of its hit series ‘The Platform’.
The series follows the story of two brothers, one of which is programming genius who comes across top-secret information, so he builds a fact-finding truth-seeing online portal to share it with the world, and thus begin the efforts from various groups around the world to stop him.
The first season was the first Emirati production to be released on Netflix worldwide, and viewership upon launch sky-rocketed, quickly landing a place on the streaming platform’s ‘trending’ list in multiple Middle Eastern countries.
For its second season, the series brings even more action and excitement to its fans, with a continuation to its story filled with thrilling twists and turns. The filming is taking place in various locations around the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, bringing to light its stunning iconic locations, as well as FilmGate’s immaculate studio building and development and technological capabilities.
‘The Platform’ series is a result of a collaboration amongst top experts in the region, including Egyptian Director Yasser Sami who recently joined the team, as well as Syrian writer and creator Hozan Akko, Emirati Director and Producer Mansoor AlYabhouni AlDhaheri, and Tunisian Executive Producer Hedi Karnit.
AlDhaheri commented: “The success of ’The Platform’ is owed to the spectacular spirit of teamwork amongst some of the most talented people in the industry. ‘The Platform’ features top actors from across the Middle East such as Maxim Khalil, Abdulmohsen AlNemr, Salloum Haddad, Ahmed AlJasmi, Samer Ismaeil, Motasem AlNahar, Khaled AlKaish, Yaser AlNeyadi, Mahira Abdulaziz, Leen Ghurra, Shadi Safadi, Khaled AlSayed, Alaa AlZuabi, Reham AlKassar, Jaber Jokhadar, and Ghanem Zrelli.
The first season is streaming now on Netflix worldwide. It is subtitled in English and Arabic for ease of viewing for fans everywhere.
