The Geographical Distribution of Covid-19: Coronavirus Spreads to all Regions of the Kingdom and the Region of Casablanca Takes the Lead

The Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that there were 3999 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19), 4118 cases cured and 73 deaths in the past 24 hours.

The ministry explained on its daily report of the epidemiological evaluation of Covid-19 that the new result has raised the total number of affected cases in the Kingdom to 331,527 cases since the announcement of the first case on March 2. As for the total number of recoveries, the ministry said it reached 279,276 cases, with a recovery rate of 84.2%, while the number of deaths increased to 5,469, maintaining the death rate at 1.6%.

The distribution of cases registered in the previous 24 hours is as follows: Casablanca-Settat (1579), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (883), Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima (369), Marrakech-Safi (229), Guelmim-Oued Noun (201), East (199).

Souss-Massa (197), Draa-Tafilalet (88), Laayoun-Sakia LHamra (84), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (82), Fez Meknès (53), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (35).

Regarding the number of cases of death, the Ministry’s report recorded 29 cases in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 8 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 6 in Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima, and 6 in Marrakech-Safi, 1 in Guelmim Oued Noun, 7 in the East, 3 in Souss Massa, 1 in Draa Tafilalet, 1 in Laayoun-Sakia Lhamra, 5 in Beni Mellal-Khenifra and 5 in Fez-Meknes, 1 in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab.

The number of serious cases in the intensive care and resuscitation unit recorded in the previous 24 hours is 125 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 1015, of which 94 under artificial ventilation and 464 under spontaneous ventilation.
