Israel’s Ambassador to Panama Hails Morocco’s Historical Role in Promoting Peace in Middle East

Panama – The Israeli Ambassador to Panama, Reda Mansour, highlighted the important role of Morocco as an actor in the service of peace in the Middle East, thanks in particular to its role as mediator in the region. 

Speaking during a videoconference organized on the occasion of the restoration of relations between the Kingdom and Israel, the Ambassador also recalled the key role played by Morocco in the rapprochement between Israel and Egypt, in favor of stability in the region.

According to the Israeli diplomat, this re-establishment of bilateral Israeli-Moroccan relations marks a decisive turning point in peace-building, because Morocco, as a “great country” and “regional leader”, is a “model of coexistence”.

In this regard, he highlighted the long-standing ties that unite the two countries. Morocco “has a strong presence in Israel, thanks to its community of one million Israelis of Moroccan origin who proudly preserve the culture of their country of origin,” he said.

During this conference, marked by the participation of the Ambassador of Morocco to Panama, Oumama Aouad, Mansour also welcomed the new dynamic generated by the signing of agreements that bring hope, peace and prosperity, which will allow also to strengthen trade and economic ties between the two countries.

On another note, the Israeli Ambassador highlighted the contribution of Arab Israelis to the country’s society, especially in the medical field.

For his part, Rabbi Gustavo Kraselnik, representative of the Kol Shearith Israel Congregation, which organized this conference, considered that this is a “historic debate”, bringing together the ambassadors of the Kingdom of Morocco and Israel, with the participation of more than 200 people, including foreign and Panamanian diplomats.
