Covid. 51 deaths recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours

A total of 2,861 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 3,232 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Thursday.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the Ministry noted that the number of people who received their first vaccination reached 24,671,113, that of people who received two doses amounted to 23,096,513, while 4,645,130 people received three injections.

The new infection toll brings the total number of infections since the first case was reported in Morocco in March 2020 to 1,141,708, while the number of people who have recovered has risen to 1,090,938, representing a cure rate of 95.6%.

The new cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (541), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (506), l’Oriental (491), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (339), Fès-Meknès (309), Marrakech-Safi (167), Souss-Massa (148), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (97), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (91), Draâ-Tafilalet (79), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (58) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (35).

The total number of deaths rose to 15.515 (case fatality 1.4%), with 51 new cases recorded in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (14), Casablanca-Settat (9), Souss-Massa (7), Marrakech-Safi (6), l’Oriental (3), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (3), Fès-Meknès (3), Béni Mellal- Khénifra (2), Guelmim-Oued Noun (2), Draâ-Tafilalet (1) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).

There were 35,255 active cases, while 98 new severe or critical cases were recorded in 24 hours, for a total of 691, including 24 under intubation. The occupancy rate of the resuscitation beds is 13.2%.
