Morocco: 5 new deaths linked to the coronavirus

A total of five new deaths linked to the new coronavirus (Covid-19) have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Morocco, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Wednesday, which also reported 1,209 new cases of infection.

These deaths were recorded in the regions of Marrakech-Safi (02), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (01), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (01), Draâ-Tafilalet (01), said the ministry in its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, announcing a total of 16,198 cases of death.

In addition, 2,077 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours, the bulletin said, noting that the number of primary vaccinated reached 24,868,041, that of people who received two doses amounted to 23,356,259, while 6,613,974 people had three injections of the vaccine. The number of people who received the fourth dose is 16,757.

The new report of infections brings to 1.254.550 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco on March 02, 2020, while the number of recovered persons has increased to 1.226.673, that is to say a recovery rate of 97,8%.

New cases of infection were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (290), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (203), Fès-Meknès (170), Oriental (133), Marrakech-Safi (109), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (104), Souss-Massa (93), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (45), Draâ-Tafilalet (27), Guelmim-Oued Noun (23), Laâyoune -Sakia El Hamra (06), and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (06)

There are 11,679 active cases, while 15 severe or critical cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 135. As for the occupancy rate of the resuscitation beds, it stands at 2.6%.
