The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita, is expected to visit Israel as part of an official visit, report the Hebrew media The visit is scheduled for September.
According to the same sources, the head of Moroccan diplomacy would have accepted the invitation given to him by the Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation, Esawi Frej, with whom he met on Thursday in Rabat. Indeed, Nasser Bourita is invited to the ceremony to celebrate the second anniversary of the Abraham Agreement. Morocco and Israel, it should be recalled, have reestablished diplomatic relations, December 10, 2020, thanks to American mediation. Since then, several members of the Israeli government have visited Morocco to sign cooperation agreements in several areas. In addition to civilian officials, the Head of the Israeli Army, Aviv Kukhavi visited Morocco, a few days ago, to strengthen the military partnership between the two countries.
Recall that the last visit of Nasser Bourita to the Hebrew state dates from the Negev Summit which brought together representatives of all countries that have signed peace agreements with Israel namely Morocco, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in addition to the United States.
