It is around sustainability and decarbonation that the International Forum of Industrial Zones will hold its work this Wednesday in Casablanca. This second edition, organized by Industrie du Maroc Magazine under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, has as its theme “Sustainable industrial zones, what offers for a competitive industry?”. “This event is part of this guideline and aims to develop the national industrial competitiveness, “notes the organizers. And to specify that “this event will be an opportunity to bring together industrialists from all sectors, including automotive, aerospace, chemicals, textiles, plastics, etc.. As well as institutional actors and international organizations. It will also allow the consolidation of the offer through the gathering of the entire value chain of the industrial ecosystem. The scientific debate will focus on the sustainability and decarbonization of industrial zones, the land supply dedicated to the infrastructure of the industrial sector, professional real estate and the sharing of successful experiences in the development of industrial zones internationally.
It should be recalled that the development of industrial infrastructure is at the heart of all public policies. To this end, Morocco currently has 150 industrial zones and 30 industrial acceleration zones, covering more than 12,000 hectares developed or under development. There are also 1,474 lots available. Regarding sustainable industrial zones, the Casablanca-Settat region alone has 30 zones covering a perimeter of 3,538 hectares.
The region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra comes in second place with 23 industrial zones spread over an area of 1,308 hectares. Fez-Meknes has for its part 19 industrial zones, an area of 856 hectares. With 14 areas, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima dedicates for its part 2,116 hectares of its area to the industrial offer, followed respectively by Marrakech-Safi (13 areas-1,311 hectares) and the Oriental (13 areas-541 hectares).
The mapping of sustainable industrial zones also shows an offer of 12 zones in Souss-Massa (1,256 hectares), 8 zones in Beni Mellal-Khenifra (280 hectares), 7 zones in Drâa-Tafilalet (204 hectares), 4 zones respectively in Guelmim-Oued Noun (198 hectares) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (329 hectares) and 3 in Lâayoune-Sakia El Hamra
