In this context, several Russian businessmen and investors were able to meet, this Wednesday at the Chamber of Commerce of the Casablanca-Settat region, their Moroccan counterparts to explore opportunities for cooperation and promote trade.
On this occasion, the representative of the Russian delegation, Andrew Alexi, said that Russian companies aspire to make their entry to African markets, via the Moroccan market.
“The choice of the Moroccan market is due to the opportunities that the Kingdom and Africa in general can present. They represent promising opportunities beyond the European market,” he said.
Alexi, stressed that Russian companies have the ambition to build partnerships with their Moroccan counterparts, strengthening the logistics and transport of goods in both directions. Also Russian entrepreneurs want to invest in local projects in Morocco.
For his part, Hassan Berkani, President of the Chamber of Commerce, attributed the holding of this meeting, to the visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Russia in 2016, and the good understanding between the two countries.
Berkani, recalled that several countries wish to install companies in Morocco and also target the sub-Saharan markets, stressing that Russian companies will benefit from the conventions signed linking Morocco to sub-Saharan countries.
He also summarized that in addition to traditional partners, Morocco aspires to diversify partnerships in order to open up to other markets and establish partnerships with other countries as an example Russia.
Note that during this meeting, investors from both countries were able to conduct direct discussions with their Moroccan counterparts in order to clarify the ways of realizing cooperation in both countries.
