The Moroccan architectural scene is gearing up to celebrateemerging innovation and creativity with the enthusiastic launch of the 2nd edition of the Young Moroccan Architecture Awards (YMAA) starting in February 2024. These prestigious awards willspotlight the exceptional achievements of young architects underthe age of 45 who will be selected by an exclusive jury.
Launch of the Young Moroccan Architecture Awards (YMAA) 2024 Edition
Morocco, a land of architectural innovation, will warmly welcomethe launch of the third edition of the Young Moroccan Architecture Awards (YMAA) in 2024. These prestigious awards, bestowed by a prestigious international jury, will showcase exceptionalaccomplishments designed by young architects, all under the ageof 45. The aim is to celebrate emerging creativity and emphasizeexcellence within the Moroccan architectural community.
Awards and Jury Selection for YMAA 2024
The most deserving architects will receive awards in 16 differentcategories, along with three special distinctions. Presided over by the eminent architect Fikri Benadallah with Odile Decq, a distinguished French architectural figure, as the guest of honor, the international jury comprises renowned architects who willundoubtedly enrich the evaluation process, and is as follows:

The selection process will unfold in two stages. Mid-year, the nominees’ evening will declare the finalist architects and projectsin each category. Finally, on December 12, 2024, the YMAA Awards ceremony will take place in the presence of the finalistarchitects, senior architects, institutional figures, personalitiesfrom the construction industry, as well as those from the arts and culture.
Open Registrations
Registrations for YMAA 2024 will be open online from February29 2024, via the dedicated website for this event: www.ymaa.ma. This innovative competition, the first of its kind in Africa and the MENA region, underscores the importance of youth and creativityin the Moroccan architectural scene. Thanks to strategicpartnerships, this event will benefit from significant media coverage, propelling Morocco’s emerging architectural sceneonto the global stage.
