On Monday, July 8, in the Ouled Ahmed douar of the Ouled Hassoune rural commune, Marrakech prefecture, a man born in 1947 was preparing to ride his bike at around 9 p.m. Unbeknownst to him, a thirty-four-year-old man was watching his every move. As the older man started his car, the younger man followed closely behind. Once the septuagenarian moved away from his home, the younger man blocked his path.
A confrontation ensued, during which the thirty-year-old accused the older man of having reported him to the police and the Royal Gendarmerie. Despite the older man’s denials, the young man did not believe him. In a fit of rage, he grabbed a stone and struck the septuagenarian on the head, causing him to fall. The assault continued until the older man stopped moving. The attacker attempted to flee but was apprehended by several young men who intervened. The victim succumbed to his injuries a few minutes later. The perpetrator was handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie.
