The Casablanca people are eagerly waiting for the opening of their new Casa Art Theater in the coming months, after completing its construction, which began years ago. Qualified by its managers as a great icon , this project has experienced many difficulties that have delayed its implementation.
The Grand Theater of Casablanca is located in Mohammed V Square, the vely heart of the Kingdom’s economic capital, alongside many Art Deco monuments from the colonial era that are now architectural masterpieces.
After the demolition of its municipal theater, this project was born of the royal will to provide Casablanca with a theater of which it can be proud. This establishment cost nearly 1440 million dirhams. It aims to become one of the most important cultural complexes in the Arab world and on the African continent.
Built to international standards, the theater offers many spaces where all performing arts can be practiced: theater, dance, singing and parades, as well as spaces for exhibitions.
It also includes many rooms that can accommodate a variety of activities, as well as shops, cafés, restaurants and a large basement parking lot.
The project, which was designed by the French architect Christian de Portzambark in partnership with the firm of the Moroccan architect Rachid Andaloussi, aims to contribute to the cultural development of the city and promote the artistic professions.
