Fouzi Lekjaa and Vahid Halilhodzic will attend the draw for the second round of the African qualifying round for the 2022 World Cup.
Morocco will be represented by a delegation headed by the head of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. The members of this delegation will fly to Cairo on January 21, 2020 to attend the draw at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Cairo.
The ceremony will divide the 14 winners of the first round and the 26 top-ranked African nations into ten groups of four (based on the December 2019 edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking), whose respective winners will advance to the third round.
This phase of the African qualifying groups will begin in March 2020 and end in October 2021. In the third round, scheduled for November 2021, the ten group winners will play five matches in round-trip matches to determine the five lucky ones elected for Qatar 2022.
