Morocco will face Sudan, Guinea and Guinea Bissau in the second round of qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup Africa Zone.
The draw for the second round of qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, held this Tuesday, January 21 in Cairo, Egypt, was lenient with the national team. Morocco, ranked fifth in Africa in the FIFA rankings, were drawn in Group 9 and got a particularly manageable group with Sudan, Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
All four teams will play in a league between themselves. The group leader will qualify in the third round along with the leaders of the other groups. A total of ten teams will qualify for the third and final round of the qualifiers. They will be divided into two levels. The top five in the FIFA ranking will play five of the lower-ranked teams in two-legged matches. The overall winners of the two matches will qualify for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
