A Storm Postpones Eredivisie Lions Matches

The Atlas Lions in the Dutch league will not play on Sunday due to the arrival of a storm in northern Europe.

The Belgian and Dutch football league matches scheduled for Sunday have been postponed in anticipation of a storm, which is expected to hit later in the day with wind gusts of up to 140 km/h, the Belgian Football League and the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) announced on Saturday.

Four matches were scheduled for today in the Netherlands, including the meeting between seventh-placed FC Utrecht and Noussair Mazraoui’s Ajax Amsterdam and the meeting between second-placed AZ Alkmaar and third-placed Feyenoord. The date of their rescheduling is still to be announced.

Due to the expected bad weather conditions, the safety of fans and players cannot be guaranteed. The same decision was taken in Belgium, where four scheduled matches have also been postponed, including the one between fourth-placed Standard Liege and leaders FC Brugge.
